At Blaisdon House we are working to create a biodiverse garden, that welcomes many wildlife species

Trying to do our bit…..

It all begins with appreciating where we live and how lucky we are to be surrounded by such wonderful countryside and a community who are creative and supportive. We try to be kind to the environment by acting respectfully and sustainably. At Blaisdon House we recycle, compost, use ECOtricity for our electric, watch our water use, have LED lightbulbs everywhere, and to clean your room we use ecological cleaning products (that have 2 Royal Warrants no less). We encourage our guests to recycle too by separating their rubbish. We don’t change sheets or towels daily (unless asked). We try to limit single-use plastic (our biggest challenge) and buy as much as we can in glass. We buy local and we buy quality. We get organic produce when we can, grow some of our own food in our organic walled vegetable garden, and serve artisan small batch produce. We even have our own flock of happy chickens to supply your organic breakfast eggs in the morning!! We have a cut flower garden for keeping the house full of blooms with no carbon footprint. We are creating a wildlife pond. We care about what we do here and the impact we can have, and try embody this philosophy in all of our choices.

We are on a journey…there is more we want to achieve and we are learning everyday.

Everyone is welcome!
